Esther 3:1-3 After these things did king Ahasuerus promote Haman the son of Hammedatha the Agagite, and advanced him, and set his seat above all the princes that were with him. (2) And all the king's servants, that were in the king's gate, bowed, and reverenced Haman: for the king had so commanded concerning him. But Mordecai bowed not, nor did him reverence. (3) Then the king's servants, which were in the king's gate, said unto Mordecai, Why transgressest thou the king's commandment?
The only person we should bow to is The King. No, we should not bow to a king here on earth, but King Jesus. Mordecai knew that this man was not worthy of a bow. How often do you and I put things ahead of God? Is there something in your life which takes you away from God? Is there something in your life which you honor or respect more than God? Would your actions say you have something in your life which is more important than God?
