Ezekiel 33:1-9 Again the word of the LORD came unto me, saying, (2) Son of man, speak to the children of thy people, and say unto them, When I bring the sword upon a land, if the people of the land take a man of their coasts, and set him for their watchman: (3) If when he seeth the sword come upon the land, he blow the trumpet, and warn the people; (4) Then whosoever heareth the sound of the trumpet, and taketh not warning; if the sword come, and take him away, his blood shall be upon his own head. (5) He heard the sound of the trumpet, and took not warning; his blood shall be upon him. But he that taketh warning shall deliver his soul. (6) But if the watchman see the sword come, and blow not the trumpet, and the people be not warned; if the sword come, and take any person from among them, he is taken away in his iniquity; but his blood will I require at the watchman's hand. (7) So thou, O son of man, I have set thee a watchman unto the house of Israel; therefore thou shalt hear the word at my mouth, and warn them from me. (8) When I say unto the wicked, O wicked man, thou shalt surely die; if thou dost not speak to warn the wicked from his way, that wicked man shall die in his iniquity; but his blood will I require at thine hand. (9) Nevertheless, if thou warn the wicked of his way to turn from it; if he do not turn from his way, he shall die in his iniquity; but thou hast delivered thy soul.In the passage above, the prophet is warning the preacher to sound a sure and certain message. If the message is sure and clear, then the hearer is accountable for the message and responsible for their own self if they do not heed the warning. However, if the guard fails to sound the warning, then the guard is responsible for the blood of the people. Sadly, the majority of our contemporary churches are in the latter group. They are led by people who simply fail to sound a warning. If most of the modern preachers were doctors, they would look at the cancer victim and explain that they are a little sick, but they will be okay. This doctor does not want you to fear or to feel badly. However, the good doctor will tell you about the cancer. He will explain to you that the cancer must be removed and it must be killed. He will tell you the truth. If we compare this doctor to a preacher, the preacher would be the one who tells you the truth about your spiritual cancer. The truth is that you must be saved and you must see and flee from sin. Those preachers whose goal is to make you feel good, regardless of the state of your soul, are failing to sound the trumpet - they are failing to sound a clear warning.
Basically, the whole purpose of this site is to sound the trumpet of warning in this late day. We are in an era when we are surrounded by an assault on the Word of God and upon the church. We are also in an electronic age where information is spread in moments. While we hope all would be saved and attend a good church on a regular basis, It is entirely possible that some will read these pages without having ever set foot in a church. Therefore, the purpose of this blog is simple: to preach, so to speak, the Word of God to anyone who may stop by. Literally, we hope to sound the trumpet of warning through these pages.
We certainly hope you find this blog to be a blessing as well as be an encouragement to you.
